Wild Thang proud to complete the big Vimto 110KM charity cycle in seriously mixed up weather ☺

Wild Thang’s Andrew Dwerryhouse participated in The Big Vimto 110KM Charity Cycle which took place on Sunday 16th September, celebrating Vimto’s 110th year anniversary while helping to raise funds of an incredible £110,000 for Warrington Youth Centre.

Andrew Dwerryhouse commented “I am personally very proud to have completed the 110km in seriously mixed up weather, heavy rain, strong winds and sunshine all featured & it was an incredibly tough challenge, but knowing all the money raised is going to such a good cause kept all the riders motivated along the route. Vimto’s chosen charity, Warrington Youth Centre, is a fantastic organisation that does many wonderful things in the community with a motto 'Inspiring young people to achieve'. They exist to support young people’s development, offering opportunities to gain, increase and develop skills, knowledge, self-awareness and confidence, and enabling them to make positive and healthy life choices.

The Vimto family put on an incredibly well organized fun event, giving a very warm welcome to all participants, with all finishers of both the 55KM and 110KM routes being  treated to first class hospitality along with lots of Vimto goodies.”

Wild Thang are proud to be Culture Liverpool’s official uniform sponsor & partner for 2018/19

2018 is a very special year for the city region, being 10 years since Capital Of Culture & Wild Thang are really proud to be sponsoring & supplying the Culture Teams Uniform. In 2008 Liverpool was named European Capital of Culture, since then they have never been far from the spotlight. Over the last five years Culture Liverpool, Liverpool City Council’s cultural service, has continued to build on its world class reputation, using culture as the driving force for the regeneration of the whole city.

Andrew Dwerryhouse MD at Wild Thang commented “We have been involved in some way or form in virtually every major cultural event over the past 10 + years, Wild Thang have seen first-hand the importance of cultural activity across our region and how it is helping grow our local visitor economy creating both employment and investment. The 10th anniversary since Capital of Culture is a very significant moment for the whole of the Liverpool City Region. 2018 is hosting an array of world class cultural events & that’s exactly why we are so proud to have partnered with the Liverpool Culture Team to supply a quality uniform for their team that will keep them comfortable, protected and visible over the next year at all major events. Did you know the vast majority of these major cultural events are free to the public and need the support of the private sector to fill the funding gaps to ensure they continue to happen, so that’s why we are so proud that this forms an important part of our very own Corporate Social Responsibility”

Sue Finnegan commented Head of Commercial & Marketing at Culture Liverpool “We have worked with Andrew and his team at Wild Thang for over 15 years due to their passion for the City, their dedication to delivering first class customer care and quality products. The team are never afraid to say ‘I don’t think that will work’ and come up with fantastic ideas delivering the maximum ROI for clients such as ourselves and we absolutely see them as an extension to our team – the team behind the city’s 2008 European Capital of Culture celebrations. Choosing a supplier to partner with for the team’s kit was a no brainer and to work with a Liverpool home grown company makes it all the more satisfying.”

A special cheque for £10,000 has been presented to Owen’s parents, Mark and Joanne of  the Owen McVeigh Foundation by Reds 'keeper Simon Mignolet at Melwood.

The cheque follows the sale of a very special limited-edition Owen McVeigh Foundation t-shirt, which was sold through the club’s three Liverpool stores and online. All profits from the sale of the striking red t-shirt were donated to the Foundation set up in memory of 11-year old Owen, who tragically passed away shortly after being diagnosed with leukaemia in December 2015.
