World’s biggest pride flag lets all take some Pride in celebrating diversity, equality, love & life together!

At Wild Thang we love all things large, big, massive related to products we sell & with many Pride festivals taking place across the UK and the world Wild Thang love nothing more than seeing human beings celebrating diversity, equality, love & life together ! So this week we feature the worlds biggest pride flag which was revealed in Key West in Florida. It was back in 2003 when Key West unveiled the world’s largest Pride flag, which measured 1.25 miles. It ran the length of Duval Street – 14 blocks to be precise. Duval Street is where most of the island’s gay venues are situated. The flag was created by designer Gilbert Baker who spent three months in Key West assembling the flag. It weighed a massive 3 tons and took about 17600 linear yards of fabric. It took 2000 volunteers to raise the flag in 2003. Where is the world’s biggest Pride flag now? The flag has, since 2003, had sections displayed at global events, including the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada, and Australia’s Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade. They have been shown internationally in Canada, Sweden, Norway, Germany, England and Australia and domestically in cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Atlanta. HOW TO SEND ARTWORK it does not have to be all gobbledygook !
HOW TO SEND ARTWORK it does not have to be all gobbledygook !

We have created this helpful guide of best practice of how to send artwork in the correct format to give you the best possible branding result so we can create some world class branded clothing, merchandise and print. It starts with accepted files types such as vector file types EPS, AI and PDF which are excellent for creating graphics that need to be resized and don’t deteriorate in quality when increased in size. Then raster images that use many coloured pixels to form a complete image. Such as JPEGs, GIFs and PNGs are common raster image types. Did you know almost all of the photos found on the web and in print catalogues are raster images & low quality DPI will give a poor result. It shows you the difference between spot colour and full colour and how this is used. Most logos have a pantone reference which is unique to a company or organisations logo and we have provided a link to our pantone reference colour guide.

Artwork Guide

Take a look at the range of Pantone colours available in the Pantone colour reference guide.

Pantone Guide

Finally, there is a brief insight into branding methods plus a link that will give you a more in depth understanding of the processes, history and capabilities of our dedicated Wild Thang team.

Roberto Martinez, ok things may not have worked out and been ‘phenomenal’ at Everton, but the boy has certainly done well for the Belgium national team. We love this photograph of Roberto getting behind the campaign to celebrate the 27th birthday of Everton in the Community and guess what, the branded blue nose was central to the campaign! We love this kind of campaign which is fun and engaging plus has got social media shares written all over it. Never underestimate the power of a photograph to capture the moment of any campaign. WIld Thang Branding geek of the week Origins of Sunglasses
WIld Thang Branding geek of the week Origins of Sunglasses

Summer is in full swing and with comparisons being made to the heatwave summer of 1976 sunglasses are an essential piece of kit for protecting Ole Blue Eyes. Not only do they look cool but they also have some interesting origins. Did you know In prehistoric and historic time, Inuit peoples wore flattened walrus ivory "glasses," looking through narrow slits to block harmful reflected rays of the sun. In the early 1920s, the use of sunglasses started to become more widespread, especially among stars of movies. It is commonly believed that this was to avoid recognition by fans, but an alternative reason sometimes given is that they often had red eyes from the powerful arc lamps that were needed due to the extremely slow speed film stocks used. The stereotype persisted long after improvements in film quality and the introduction of ultraviolet filters had eliminated this problem.

Inexpensive mass-produced sunglasses made from celluloid were first produced by Sam Foster in 1929. Foster found a ready market on the beaches of Atlantic City, New Jersey, where he began selling sunglasses under the name Foster Grant from a Woolworth on the Boardwalk. By 1938 Life magazine wrote of how sunglasses were a "new fad for wear on city streets ... a favourite affectation of thousands of women all over the U.S." It stated that 20 million sunglasses were sold in the United States in 1937.

Today they are as much about the eye protection as looking cool, but from a marketing perspective sunglasses can really bring a campaign to life and if the sun shines your branded sunnies can become that walking talking advert. At Wild Thang we have a great range of promotional sunglasses in many styles all of which can be printed and branded please remember we are here to help with expert branded clothing, merchandise & print advice :-) Plenty of sunglasses & accessory options available on the website.

Proud to have exhibited at the worlds biggest business festival

Proud to have been featured in the highlights of the International Business Festival which is the biggest of its kind in the world. Taking place 12-28th June it was a genuinely fantastic expo to be involved in & I am positive we will reap the benefits for Wild Thang, the Liverpool City Region & the wider UK economy, we are looking forward to the next one already. https://www.internationalbusinessfestival.com/blog/reaping-the-benefits-of-businessfest

Andrew Dwerryhouse MD at Wild Thang commented “ Wild Thang are really proud to have exhibited at the World’s Biggest Business Festival it really was fantastic expo & we have received lots of interest plus some great feedback on the exhibition display we created and the creative & innovative campaigns & products we featured. We made a special effort to showcase the many merchandise products that are actually still manufactured in the UK so we took the opportunity to raise awareness, educate a little & hence our union jack theme.  As a company we pride ourselves in thinking more creatively, doing something different and creative to help our clients stand out from the crowd. One of the highlights was meeting boxing champion Tony Bellew who is a fantastic athlete, ambassador for the city & a genuinely humble guy. We are positive we will reap the benefits of meeting so many businesses and organisations from across the world & looking forward to the next one already. “
