We are also trying to do our bit so check out the worlds largest biggest T-shirt made from recycled plastic PET bottles.
This giant T-shirt made out of recycled plastic waste from around 200,000 used PET bottles has entered the Guinness Book of World Records. Measuring 97.5m x 70.08m & weighed a whopping 4,000 kg, the T-shirt was constructed in India by the Plastindia Foundation (an apex body which works with companies and government), to create awareness on the need to manage and recycle plastic waste.
The Indian company sourced 200,000 used PET bottles then crushed, recycled and processed them into fibre to create a whopping 4,000 kg of cloth.With public interest in the damage caused by discarded plastic this was a fantastic example of raising awareness by Mumbai-based organisation, Plastindia Foundation. Mondays don’t have to be pants, this is why I am so so pleased to share this amazing world record. You already know Wild Thang absolutely loves all things big, huge, massive related to products we sell, but this one is extra special for more than one reason. We probably produce more branded promotional branded underwear than anyone else in the UK and secondly by pure co-incidence this world record took place only down the round from our HQ.
The underpants measured a whopping 1,665 cm wide and 254 cm high and fitted very snugly around an amazing 286 people inside, this amazing world record was achieved by students from Rimrose Hope Primary School in Bootle, Liverpool. The record was organised by five students taking part in a competition in conjunction with the Gazelle group and 'Pants to Poverty,' which raises awareness for fair trade within the cotton industry. This was also very much close to our heart as a company being very much involved in the textile industry and holding Sedex membership we know how important it is to monitor your supply chain to make sure we also say ‘Pants to Poverty’.

Check out the world’s biggest football soccer ball, the football (soccer ball) which measured 12.188 m (39 ft 11.8 in) in diameter and was made by Doha Bank (Qatar) in Doha, Qatar on 12 February 2013 The largest football (soccer ball) has a circumference of 38.30 m (125 ft 8 in) and weighs approximately 960kg.

We love sharing random and interesting facts about products we supply. This week we are focusing on the garment that everyone probably has in their wardrobe. Did you know that history states the original sport of Polo originated in India and was then taken up in England by returning soldiers. The Polo playing shirt used to be a long sleeved shirt & was the first collared garment to have a buttoned-down collar, which polo players invented in the late 19th century to keep their collars from flapping in the wind. Brooks Brothers's early president, John Brooks, noticed this while at a polo match in England and began producing such a shirt in 1896.
They have obviously since lost their button down collar & gained a buttoned placket but none of their popularity as a sports and casual leisure or uniform garment essential with Ralph Lauren’s iconic polo shirt probably taking the top spot in popularity, linking the original history with its modern day equivalent. Finally when it comes to the important logo or brand aspect did you know the reason why branding is virtually always on the left chest of a garment? It’s so when people shake hands the #branding is still on show, because if it was on the right side it would be hidden. The giant box was created to celebrate the launch of Thorntons ‘Moments’, the Chocolatier’s new twist-wrapped chocolates, measuring 5.04 metres (16.5 feet) tall and 3.5 metres (11.5 feet) wide, total box weight was 4,805lbs - that's over 2 tonnes! The marker weighs 17.48 kg (38 lb 8.64 oz) with ink amount of 3.14 kg (6 lb 14.72 oz). achieved by Zebra Co., Ltd. (Japan) in Shinjuku, Tokyo, on 5 September 2017.
