A special cheque for £10,000 has been presented to Owen’s parents, Mark and Joanne of  the Owen McVeigh Foundation by Reds 'keeper Simon Mignolet at Melwood.

The cheque follows the sale of a very special limited-edition Owen McVeigh Foundation t-shirt, which was sold through the club’s three Liverpool stores and online. All profits from the sale of the striking red t-shirt were donated to the Foundation set up in memory of 11-year old Owen, who tragically passed away shortly after being diagnosed with leukaemia in December 2015.

Andrew Dwerryhouse commented “We are really proud to have played our small part in this unique collaboration designing, producing & delivering the printed t-shirts that where being retailed for this amazing charity partnership. Having already been involved with the Owen McVeigh Foundation for a number of years it was a very special moment to see the t-shirts retailed through the LFC stores & online as I know how much it will have meant to Joanne, Mark & the foundation. This £10,000 will be a big boost to making their vision a reality of purchasing a respite lodge in the Lake District for those deserving children.”
