Wild Thangs t-shirt range lets our NHS heroes know they will never walk alone in the fight against Covid-19!!
Wild Thangs t-shirt range lets our NHS heroes know they will never walk alone in the fight against Covid-19!!

Wild Thang wanted to make a difference, so for each t-shirt purchased we have committed to donate 50% of the purchase price to NHS charities Charity No 1186569 , or send a t-shirt to NHS staff on the front line of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The initial idea for the NHS themed t-shirts came about after we created social distancing t-shirts as our last job before lockdown for our amazing team before some started working remotely.

The feedback from our friends and family was awesome and they loved the design, but still we wanted to do more, so we donated 28 sacks of garments for NHS workers over at Clatterbridge Hospital on the Wirral, we then also printed some cotton shopper bags for amazing Liverpool Women’s Hospital staff, all linked to helping in the fight against corona virus.

This got the team thinking, how else can we make a difference? We came up with the idea to produce a range of t-shirts so those NHS heroes really know they will never walk alone, and we can continue to raise awareness/make a difference in the fight against Covid-19, one t-shirt at a time!

Our creative team developed some awesome designs, we asked the public to vote for their favorites and they are now available in all their glory on the Wild Thang shop!

Please remember, if you do make a purchase you will not only be helping the NHS, you will also be helping Wild Thang in a small way to reintroduce staff as the UK starts to return to normality.

Wild Thang wanted to make a difference in the fight against Covid-19!
Wild Thang wanted to make a difference in the fight against Covid-19!

As a company we have followed all the government guidelines to promote best practice for anything related to covid-19 and the corona virus so we can help protect the most vulnerable, it’s been one of the toughest times in our 24 year history.

We wanted to do more and make a difference which started by creating social distancing t-shirts as our last job for our amazing team, this was to raise awareness of social distancing before some of the team started to work remotely from home. The feedback from our friends and family was awesome and they loved the design, but still we wanted to do more.

Recently we have delivered a large consignment of clothing - 28 large bags of t-shirts, hoodies and bottoms to be precise, over to Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, this was after hearing they were in desperate need of clothing for frontline staff working tirelessly for the patients with covid-19, this was an attempt to reduce infection when they to travel to and from work in their own clothes before changing into their uniforms/scrubs once inside the building, after this we donated branded tote bags to the guys at Liverpool Women’s Hospital.

Currently taking pride of place at WT HQ is a banner with our support message to all the key workers during this difficult time.

We have a saying here - ‘It’s the Wild Thang Way’, so we wanted to do more.

The staff social distancing t-shirts and garments we donated got us all thinking how else can we make a difference and that’s when we came up with another idea, so all those NHS heroes really know they will never walk alone, and we can continue to raise awareness/make a difference in the fight against Covid-19, one t-shirt at a time!

Our creative team designed a range of limited edition t-shirts with a simple concept, if someone purchases a t-shirt to show their appreciation to those NHS heroes Wild Thang will either donate 50% of the purchase price to NHS charities Charity No 1186569 or send a t-shirt to the NHS frontline staff, because we knew first-hand they urgently need extra clothing.

We then shared our idea on social media and the feedback was amazing, lots of people thought it was an awesome idea and loved the designs. So the next step was to shortlist the most popular designs and create a web shop, they will be available to purchase soon, we will share the news via our social media channels when they go live!

Like many businesses in the UK it’s a worrying time our, sales have understandably slowed down considerably since lockdown so initiatives like this even in a small way will also help Wild Thang to reintroduce staff as the UK starts to return to normality, we cannot wait to be back up to full strength and doing what we do best, which as a company is to try and make a difference to those around us, it’s part of our ethos, and as we say ‘It’s the Wild Thang Way!’

For now, stay home, protect the NHS and save lives.

Collapsible drinks cup - not only is this a unique product it’s also compact. Next time you are in Starbucks instead of taking a disposable cup simply ask them to fill up your cup. There are quite a few coffee and tea addicts out there so it would not be unusual to have 2 to 3 cups a day and if they use one of the coffee chains that would mean 3 x 365 = 1095 per year! Now that’s a whole lot of disposable cups saved.

Wild Thang getting in a muddle, for a medal!
Wild Thang getting in a muddle, for a medal!

Wild Thang are proud to support BTR Road Runners who organized their first Medal Muddle 5K, which is a community running event, raising £800 for the RNLI whilst welcoming new runners of all abilities and having a positive environmental impact.

Wild Thang Managing Director Andrew Dwerryhouse commented: “When we were first told about the Medal Muddle concept we were so impressed and said straight away that Wild Thang definitely wanted to be involved somehow to support this unique community led 5K series of race events. We have been a supplier to BTR for many years so know the collaboration and partnership can make a real difference so we are genuinely proud to have got involved from the very beginning. As a company it ticked a number of areas from a CSR point of view, supporting a community volunteer led running club and raising much needed money for local charities. But in turn upcycling products to minimise waste. With sustainability being central to our ISO 14001 environmental certification it was a perfect fit to give those t-shirts and medals a new lease of life, making sure they did not get muddled up into having a negative environmental impact”

BTR Race Director Alan Rothwell commented: “We’re delighted to donate past race event medals and T-shirts as part of our commitment to going green and doing our bit for the environment. BTR Road Runners are delighted to have the support of our long running supplier, Wild Thang, it’s fantastic they are involved in this new and innovative initiative which also meets their sustainability standards.”

The next race is taking place on the 28th September 2019 with funds raised this time going to Pawprints Wildlife Rescue Charity.

Wild Thang proud to donate warm clothing to the homeless as temperatures fall.

Andrew Dwerryhouse, MD at Wild Thang commented: “Wild Thang are proud to have made this donation and are sure every little counts, It’s this time of year that our thoughts turn to those most in need when the weather takes a turn for the worse for vulnerable homeless people, especially when having to deal with freezing temperatures. That’s exactly why we donated a sizable amount of clothing including jackets, hoodies and hats to the Cotton Street Homeless Project and Whitechapel Homeless Centre which will hopefully keep a number of people safe and warm this winter. As part of the companies charitable fundraising the staff Christmas Jumper day held prior to the festive break raised over £200 which will be split between these two great organisations. We encourage others to get involved as the more people/companies/organisations involved in trying to make an impact the better the outcome will be, which is ultimately all focused on trying to eradicate homelessness in the Liverpool City Region for good.”
