Wild Thang Branding Geek don’t forget to post-it !

We simply love bringing you random facts & information about products we sell & I would be very surprised if you had not used a post-it note at some point as a reminder to do list or simply to mark something in a page with some comments. We loved this extreme post-it note image but they may have gone a little too far with those reminders.

 Did you know The original postit notes only ended up being yellow by chance & sometimes an innovative product only gets to market through a bit of luck, coincidence & persistence. In 1968, a scientist at 3M in the United States, Dr. Spencer Silver, was attempting to develop a super-strong adhesive. Instead he accidentally created a "low-tack", reusable, pressure-sensitive adhesive, Silver promoted his "solution without a problem" within 3M both informally and through seminars but failed to gain acceptance. In 1974 a colleague who had attended one of his seminars, Art Fry, came up with the idea of using the adhesive to anchor his bookmark in his hymnbook. The original notes yellow colour was chosen by accident, as the lab next-door to the Post-it team had only yellow scrap paper to use the rest as they say is history.

At Wild Thang we love all things big, huge & massive realted to products we supply, inspired by my recent Vimto 110KM charity ride I thought I would share the world's largest cycling  jersey. This giant-size cycle jersey was created by Team Sky for the start of the 2014 Tour De France. The unveiling of the whopping  25m x 25m jersey took place in Millennium Square in Leeds city centre for the start of that years race. Wild Thang’s Andrew Dwerryhouse participated in The Big Vimto 110KM Charity Cycle which took place on Sunday 16th September, celebrating Vimto’s 110th year anniversary while helping to raise funds of an incredible £110,000 for Warrington Youth Centre.

 Andrew Dwerryhouse commented “I am personally very proud to have completed the 110km in seriously mixed up weather, heavy rain, strong winds and sunshine all featured & it was an incredibly tough challenge, but knowing all the money raised is going to such a good cause kept all the riders motivated along the route. Vimto’s chosen charity, Warrington Youth Centre, is a fantastic organisation that does many wonderful things in the community with a motto 'Inspiring young people to achieve'. They exist to support young people’s development, offering opportunities to gain, increase and develop skills, knowledge, self-awareness and confidence, and enabling them to make positive and healthy life choices.

The Vimto family put on an incredibly well organized fun event, giving a very warm welcome to all participants, with all finishers of both the 55KM and 110KM routes being  treated to first class hospitality along with lots of Vimto goodies.”

Wild Thang were honoured to be asked to play in the 2018 LMA Golf Event at St Andrews on 10th and 11^th September, an event which brought together suppliers, ambassadors, clients and members of the League Managers Association. Based at The Old Course, the 2 rounds over 2 days were a lot of fun with some of Britain’s toughest holes, with a wind off the North Sea that didn’t help (excuses, excuses…..)

 As well as money being raised for some great charitable causes there was also some fantastic branding around the event on the day, from tee boards, bow banners, polo shirts, balls, tees and bag tags, if you need your Corporate Golf Event branded, you know where to come!
