WILD THANG CHOSEN AS A SHOWCASE TO HIGHLIGHT THEIR UNIQUE BREXIT JOURNEY!
WILD THANG CHOSEN AS A SHOWCASE TO HIGHLIGHT THEIR UNIQUE BREXIT JOURNEY!

Wild Thang sometimes did not know whether to laugh or cry as we were chosen for a showcase case study video to highlight our unique Brexit journey by the Liverpool Chamber of commerce. The video gives a unique insight into both the real challenges but also how Wild Thang would like the government to help businesses, ending on a positive note about our growth plans for the future which may have had some influence on their nomination as a finalist for the Chamber International Award!

Andrew Dwerryhouse Wild Thang MD was interviewed for the showcase and the whole team are incredibly proud to represent the manufacturing sector. Describing how we have navigated through what can only be described as the perfect storm through the Brexit challenges to not only survive but adapt and thrive, we hope that this can inspire other companies to do the same. Without doubt one of most challenging moments in the company’s 25 year history, yet we have never been more excited about the future with plans to double our turnover and increase our staffing levels by 20-30% over the next 3 years.

Andrew Dwerryhouse Wild Thang MD commented “It has been a roller coaster ride of a journey over the last 4 years but we were proud that our Brexit journey was featured by the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, we appreciate being chosen & we genuinely hope it has a positive impact on helping other businesses navigate it, but also for the government policy makers and ongoing EU negotiations.”

Wild Thang MD Andrew Dwerryhouse.

“It’s a special moment to watch this & also showcase to our team as it really did give everyone a real sense of pride of how we have adapted and overcome the many Brexit challenges. To not only have survived and thrived we have also stayed incredibly focused as a team on the future with big growth plans of doubling our turn over and increasing our staff levels by 20-30% over the next 3 years which include the opening of a European office in Dublin to facilitate better access into the EU.”

Wild Thang Embroidery Department.

“Hopefully this mini video also showcases our £2m new world class HQ development that is nearing very final snagging completion before the final launch, this has been delayed many times due to the impact of the World Wide Covid Pandemic which obviously has brought a huge amount of disruption and uncertainty in so many other ways. We really have to laugh when we look back or we would cry to have had three huge challenges for the price of one. We now believe we have passed through the eye of the storm."

Wild Thang Screen Printing Department.

"Our amazing team has developed so much to become logistic experts, so we are now fully focused on getting excited about meeting future growth plans and delivering products and services across the UK, Europe and beyond that are truly world class at every level.”

Wild Thang Celebrating The Importance Of World Earth Day !
Wild Thang Celebrating The Importance Of World Earth Day !

To celebrate the importance of World Earth Day we thought it would be a great idea we to highlight a few small initiatives we have undertaken at Wild Thang to make a difference in our own way. This may currently look like a wire coming out of a hole in the ground, and indeed it is, but this is actually where Wild Thangs new vehicle charging point is being installed in our car park, we already have electric vehicles in our fleet and will soon be introducing another, in the shape of an all-electric van, so any deliveries we make will be greener than ever!

We have redeveloped our whole building so it is not only world class in look, but also in environment standards with LED lights in every area of the building and also lights that switch off automatically when they don’t sense any movement.

Holding ISO14001 certification shows we are committed to taking responsibility for our social and environmental impact every single day. We know doing a lot of small things together we can all make a huge difference to the future of planet earth, so why not take a look at our CSR policy.

CSR INFO

We have a huge array of environmentally orientated products that all go a little way to making less impact and making everything that little more sustainable, from an organic t-shirt printed with environmentally friendly inks, to some really innovative products such as this unique pencil that has seeds inside, all you have to literally do is plant it and nature will take care of everything else!

Why not take a look how you can make your campaigns more eco sustainable by having a browse of our innovative range of environmentally orientated products or have a question or query simply get in touch.

Huge thank you to everyone who has made sure those NHS heroes Never Walked Alone!
Huge thank you to everyone who has made sure those NHS heroes Never Walked Alone!

Together we have all made a difference & while it has been an incredibly tough time for Wild Thang as a company, as it has been for many others companies, we simply wanted to make a difference as an organisation and team to do whatever we could to make sure those NHS Heroes and Key workers really know they Will Never Walk Alone!

With your help & as a team, we are incredibly proud that we have been able to make donations and deliveries to Liverpool Women’s Hospital, Clatterbridge Cancer Hospital, The Liverpool Royal Hospital, Alder Hey Hospital and Aintree Hospital. Over the past weeks we have been working with a skeleton team but we still found the time as a team to make a difference.

Our final week 3-4 report on the impact showed we never quite made that 500th T-shirt sale but we got pretty damn close with 487, thank you all again!

But it’s time to bring this project to a close as we now hopefully start getting back to some sort of normality now lock down is being eased.

It’s been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster but we have got to say the thing we are most proud of is the photo’s & videos you have shared. We have loved loved loved this more than anything else & there have been 10,000’s of shares and views across social media.

It was amazing to get Johnny Vegas and Simon Rimmer’s support also, they are genuinely nice guys but the real impact has been made by real people showing their support for the community, the NHS and especially those NHS Heroes!

Our feel good factor continues with the Museum of Liverpool purchasing some of the t-shirts to include in a curation about the impact of Covid-19 on the community.

So watch this space, they are also looking for other people’s stories - see link with contact details so you can get involved.

We will continue to support those NHS Heroes where we can as individuals and as a company because together we really all do make a difference and its ‘The Wild Thang Way’.

It was a happy Valentine’s Day for Wild Thang
It was a happy Valentine’s Day for Wild Thang

It was a happy Valentine’s Day for Wild Thang.

As the completion of its major development plan and a new era with the handover of its upgraded headquarters, that dream started to become a reality on Valentine’s Day when Frank Rogers Building Contractors officially handed over the new build offices of the development.

Andrew Dwerryhouse said: “This represents a major step forward for the business and it is amazing to see this investment start to come to fruition. When you embark on a development on this scale, you take a deep breath. It’s a huge commitment in time, planning and of course monetary terms - but when you see it start to become reality, you know it is the correct decision.

We wanted to make sure we brought the right people in on this project. Myself, the Directors and our senior team care a great deal about this business so it had to be right for everyone, it’s fantastic to be able to report that all staff are already benefitting from the amazing new spaces. Central to the whole development was always to create a wonderful high quality working environment for our amazing colleagues and the really big news is that I actually had my first lunch break away from my desk in 24 years, which is quite a revelation!

Both Frank Rogers and the architects at K2 have not let us down.

They have delivered a genuinely high quality job so far, especially with the added complexity of it being undertaken while we continue to manufacture. Our eye can’t be taken off the ball just yet because we still need to complete the demolition of our old building to create the new cladding and windows around the rest of the outside and also create a completely new production configuration which is a big task in itself. The full completion of the entire development is looking like it will be towards the end of April 2020.

It has been an intense and challenging few months for the whole team working alongside the development while it progresses and something like this only happens through that real team ethos in every area of the business. Overseeing this project and continuing to make sure the day-to-day work of Wild Thang isn’t compromised has been a huge logistical challenge. Our team has worked brilliantly to ensure it has been business as usual.

Although Friday 14th February was the official handover for the project there are still some jobs that need to be completed. Another firm, Box Clever, has also been integral to the process, taking Wild Thang through the tender process and acting as the development project manager.

As a company we have enjoyed growth of around 18-20% for the past three years and are aiming for further 20-25% growth following completion of the project. The transformation of the headquarters will allow the business to significantly increase manufacturing capacity and will require a rise in headcount to meet our aspiration to be one of the leading branded clothing, merchandise and print companies inthe UK.

We are now the biggest company in this sector in the Liverpool city region and we see huge opportunities for growth in the coming months and years. This project has been three years in the planning and seeing it finally come to fruition is incredibly exciting for us all. In fact I can safely say there may have never been a more exciting time, because this is one of the biggest moments in Wild Thang’s history.”

WE HAVE OFFICIALLY BROKEN GROUND FOR THE MAJOR RE-DEVELOPMENT OF WILD THANG WHICH WILL LAST UNTIL DECEMBER 2019

The development at Wild Thang has now begun which is a very exciting time for the company. Like any major development it will come with its challenges as the development progresses.
We apologise in advance for any inconvenience that the development may create for all clients but we are very confident in the long term we will be much improved as a company both physically and organisationally so we can improve the delivery of products and services, which is all aimed at providing that world class client customer service experience.

WILD THANG CLIENTS

ACCESS CHANGES FOR ALL CLIENTS WHO WORK WITH WILD THANG

New Goods In and Out entrance & Car Park plan graphic clearly explaining the changes happening.

Wild Thang Parking Changes – Car park is now located off Bedford place. Unfortunately throughout the development period there will now be very limited parking access for any clients when visiting Wild Thang’s premises. If there is no space we advise to either park on Bedford Place or Ensor Street but there are a number of adjacent roads that may have spaces available. Alternative means such as public transport should also be considered.

Wild Thang Goods In and Out - For larger deliveries and pickups will now be off Bedford place and as you turn directly into the Wild Thang Carpark you will see the Goods In and Out entrance shutter directly in front of you.

Wild Thang Reception - When visiting Wild Thang, the only access point for clients or the public is through our reception located on Derby Road, this has not been affected at this current time.

Wild Thang Health and Safety - Please take care when in and around the working environment of the development at Wild Thang. Do not enter under any circumstances into the contractors fenced off areas, these are live working environments so can be dangerous. Should you see any dangerous behaviour by the contractor that could impact any individual please inform any Wild Thang member of staff immediately.

We want you to know that we genuinely appreciate all of the client business that you have sent Wild Thang's way over the years and you are all an incredibly important part of Wild Thang’s story both past, present & future.

We can’t wait to share our exciting plans for the future of Wild Thang & you should expect an invite to the official launch at some point in December 2019

We will do our upmost to keep you all informed as the project progresses but if you have any questions, queries or concerns over any of the points raised in this important client correspondence please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any of the senior team.

Thanks for all your help, support and co-operation

Team Wild Thang.

Wild Thang are committed to helping the most vulnerable in our society this Christmas
Wild Thang are committed to helping the most vulnerable in our society this Christmas

Andrew Dwerryhouse MD at Wild Thang commented: “It’s this time of year that our thoughts turn to those most in need,  we know that every little counts no matter how small can really make a difference! That’s why this festive season Wild Thang are very proud to have supplied the branding for the Emergency Homeless Survival Packs to the Cotton Street project free of charge. This project is a truly unique and groundbreaking initiative that has been created by Signature Livings Lawrence Kenwright, we know that these packs will make a difference & we will be going even further by donating a sizable amount of stock clothing such as jackets, hoodies and hats to the Cotton Street Project which will hopefully keep a number of vulnerable Homeless people safe and warm this winter. As part of the companies fundraising this Christmas we also intend to have a Christmas Jumper fundraising day meaning we will also continue to support the Whitechapel Centre which is another organization also doing great work with the homeless in our region. We believe the more people/organisations involved in trying to make an impact the better, which is  ultimately all  focused on eradicating homelessness in Liverpool City Region for good.”
