At Wild Thang we love all things big, huge, massive related to products we sell. The sudden drop in temperature has given us a little inspiration this week. Check out the world’s largest knitted hat, measuring 6.90 m (22 ft 7 in) in height and 15.05 m (49 ft 4 in) in circumference. Created by volunteers from all over Europe, the hat was assembled and presented in Puchheim, Germany, on Oct. 5 2008, after 3,000 work hours.

 It’s also a reminder to make sure you are wearing something warm when temperatures fall. Every little makes a difference and it’s always nice to support individuals that are directly involved in giving up their spare time and energy to making a difference to others selflessly, which is why Wild Thang were only too happy to help. In this case the main organiser is trying to raise £50,000 to provide crucial cancer therapies for Kate McIver.

We think this image is just a fantastic example of merchandise in action but it is literally so much more. Over the past weekend approx 1.3 million people flooded into the streets of Liverpool to get a glimpse of the incredible Giant spectacular & without the volunteers shown in this photograph it simply would not have been possible. All of those individuals gave up there time for free to keep the crowds safe and in good spirits so families could enjoy this once in a lifetime very special cultural event. 

We simply love it when people share their branded merchandise in action on social media, in this case saluting the volunteers fantastic work.
