Big thank you to everyone who has made sure those NHS heroes know They’ll Never Walk Alone by purchasing a t-shirt over the past few weeks.

Just so you know the impact you have been making by purchasing a t-shirt we have put together an info graphic, which was designed by our very talented studio.

We have been overwhelmed by the positive feedback with lots of people posting photo’s which really has made us feel incredibly proud as a team, and really makes us feel that our efforts to make a difference are worthwhile. Sharing our message across social media was the real aim and that has been achieved with tens of thousands of social media interactions.

As you know our first order to be dispatched was a very special delivery to 100-year-old Captain Tom Moore as a birthday treat, what an incredible hero that has captured the nation’s hearts with his fundraising for the NHS.

We have even had a few high profile t-shirt purchases, from the amazing comedian Johnny Vegas, who has been on tour around the hospitals in the North West giving his time up selflessly for those NHS Heroes, and many thanks to the very talented Celebrity Chef from Sunday Brunch on Channel 4, Simon Rimmer.

But the highlight for the week was from Ellie Orton, CEO of NHS Charities Together who commented “Well done for all the support you are giving to NHS charities this is amazing. Thank you so much for sharing with us, we really appreciate it. Thank you so much for your support to NHSCT and our members. I love the videos and selfies they are great.”

We have had orders from across the UK and Internationally so we’re happy to report we have sold over 370 t-shirt’s over the past few weeks.

Don’t forget every t-shirt purchased we are donating 50% to NHS Charities or a t-shirt to an NHS hero in their fight against the virus, to let those heroes get the message loud and clear, whilst also importantly promoting social distancing.

Like many businesses in the UK it’s a worrying time, our sales have understandably slowed since lockdown so initiatives like this even in a small way will also help Wild Thang to reintroduce staff when the UK starts to return to normality, we cannot wait to be back up to full strength and doing what we do best, which as a company is to try and make a difference to those around us, it’s part of our ethos, and as we say - ‘It’s the Wild Thang Way!’.

What a fantastic week one!

Big thank you to everyone who has made sure those NHS Heroes Know They Will Never Walk Alone by purchasing a t-shirt this past week.

The first orders for our t-shirts have been delivered over the past week and we have been overwhelmed by the positive feedback.

Lots of people have been posting photo’s which has got us all a bit emotional at Wild Thang & really makes us feel our efforts are worthwhile & are making a difference. Our first order to be dispatched as a very special delivery was of course heading to 99-year-old Captain Tom Moore, who has captured the nation’s hearts with his fundraising for the NHS.

We have had orders from around the UK but also got our first international order which is heading over to Sweden. Happy to report that positive momentum seems to be building, having sold just under over 200 t-shirt’s in the first 7 days which is a great start.

Hopefully this is just the start so it’s critical for everyone to continue spreading the word that our NHS Heroes will never walk alone.

Wild Thang wanted to make a difference, so for each t-shirt purchased we have committed to donate 50% of the purchase price to NHS charities Charity No 1186569 , or send a t-shirt to NHS staff on the front line of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The initial idea for the NHS themed t-shirts came about after we created social distancing t-shirts as our last job before lockdown for our amazing team before some started working remotely.

The feedback from our friends and family was awesome and they loved the design, but still we wanted to do more, so we donated 28 sacks of garments for NHS workers over at Clatterbridge Hospital on the Wirral, we then also printed some cotton shopper bags for amazing Liverpool Women’s Hospital staff, all linked to helping in the fight against corona virus.

This got the team thinking, how else can we make a difference? We came up with the idea to produce a range of t-shirts so those NHS heroes really know they will never walk alone, and we can continue to raise awareness/make a difference in the fight against Covid-19, one t-shirt at a time!

Our creative team developed some awesome designs, we asked the public to vote for their favorites and they are now available in all their glory on the Wild Thang shop!

Please remember, if you do make a purchase you will not only be helping the NHS, you will also be helping Wild Thang in a small way to reintroduce staff as the UK starts to return to normality.

At Wild Thang you know we absolutely love all things big, huge, massive related to products we sell, recycling and reuse are very much a key element in long term environmental sustainability which is a current hot topic. We are also trying to do our bit so check out the worlds largest biggest T-shirt made from recycled plastic PET bottles.

This giant T-shirt made out of recycled plastic waste from around 200,000 used PET bottles has entered the Guinness Book of World Records. Measuring 97.5m x 70.08m & weighed a whopping 4,000 kg, the T-shirt was constructed in India by the Plastindia Foundation (an apex body which works with companies and government), to create awareness on the need to manage and recycle plastic waste.

The Indian company sourced 200,000 used PET bottles then crushed, recycled and processed them into fibre to create a whopping 4,000 kg of cloth.With public interest in the damage caused by discarded plastic this was a fantastic example of raising awareness by Mumbai-based organisation, Plastindia Foundation. After the record was confirmed and photos taken, the record-breaking tee was taken away to be turned into 10,000 normal sized shirts and distributed to disadvantaged children Please remember we are here to help with expert branded clothing, merchandise and print advice .

Another epic Snowdon achievement by the Owen McVeigh Foundation which took place on May the 25th so this just had to be merchandise in action this week.

Wild Thang are proud to have played our small part branding and donating the tech T-shirts for the annual @mcveigh_owen Foundation Snowdon Challenge which this year involved 160 plus people fundraising over £20,000 + which is just fantastic. Massive congratulations to all those amazing individuals that completed the Snowdon challenge pushing themselves to their limits for an amazing cause and also to all the fantastic companies that supported this very special event.

It's a great example of merchandise & branding in action. Branded Screen Printed Technical T-shirts show how going that extra mile with branding can really make a truly eye catching impact photo. Well it’s not every day you get to produce merchandise for a world class visitor attraction in your home cities most iconic building which is The Royal Liver Building. It was a real privilege to view the attraction first hand & see the most breathtaking views across the Liverpool City Region getting closer than ever to those iconic Liver Birds along with incredible animated interactive experience in the buildings clock tower.

So this simply had to be our merchandise in action for this week, in this image we love the use of the scarf being held which is a nod to the cities sporting heritage, showing the pride and excitement for the forthcoming opening for this world class visitor attraction. When it comes to branding we should never underestimate the power of the photograph to capture the moment of any event & deliver real impact, think PR exposure, think the endless social media sharing or competitions on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook & Snapchat. At Wild Thang we love all things big, large, huge, massive related to products we sell. Now the clocks have gone back its cold & dark out there so really important to stay safe and highly visible on the roads. So I just had to share this great achievement by a school in Northampton who secured its places in the record books.

More than 1,500 pupils at Abbeyfield School flooded onto the playground to set a new world record for the number of high visibility vests worn in one place. This giant-size cycle jersey was created by Team Sky for the start of the 2014 Tour De France.
