Team Wild Thang Chasing the Stigma!
Team Wild Thang Chasing the Stigma!

Wild Thangs senior team took part in the Ambassador of Hope plus training with Chasing the Stigma who are a national mental health charity that is committed to normalising mental health. We know the importance of raising awareness around mental health and wellbeing so our senior team is now better equipped and more confident than ever to support our wider team in the best possible way.

AMBASSADOR OF HOPE + TRAINING CERTIFICATE

Wild Thang managing director Andrew Dwerryhouse commented: “We know over he last few years it has been super tough for our team and their families dealing with all the pandemic challenges, but we also know that everyone will be touched by mental health concerns in their lifetime at some point. I have personally been through some very low times and seen first-hand how difficult it can be dealing with these issues both in business and personally.

RACHEL COOGAN CHASING THE STIGMA LEFT DEANNE WALSH AMBASSADOR OF HOPE TRAINER RIGHT

So we decided as a company that there was never a better time to embrace and to try our best to normalise the mental health conversations within Wild Thang. It’s great to be able to support a charity that is doing some amazing work in this area but just as importantly to get the in-depth training that would make a positive impact for the long term.

CHASING THE STIGMA PROMOTIONL MATERIAL AND POSTERS

I have met the founder of the charity Jake Mills and his story is an inspiration, it really gives hope to anyone suffering from mental health issues that there is always light at the end of the tunnel no matter how low someone maybe feeling. Always remember there are people that can help and support you which can be signposted through the fantastic Hub of Hope database.

DEANNE WALSH TRAINER & WILD THANG SENIOR TEAM WHO PARTICPATED IN THE TRAINING

We are really proud of how our senior team embraced the training in an open and honest way, talking about their own personal or families challenges. The Ambassador of Hope training plus we received from Chasing the Stigma was fantastic, big thanks to the trainer who delivered really insightful and in-depth helpful advice that really has given us the tools to be better equipped to support not only our wider team but also family and friends from a mental health and wellbeing perspective It really is the Wild Thang Way.”

Wild Thang proud to support John Haynes Foundation helping raise over £30,000!
Wild Thang proud to support John Haynes Foundation helping raise over £30,000!

Wild Thang are incredibly proud to have supported and sponsored this incredible event by providing all design and branded marketing collateral required for the John Haynes foundation and gala dinner. The John Haynes Tribute dinner and legacy foundation launch took place at the Liverpool Hilton Hotel on the 18th of September.

The Gala Dinner dressed to impress at the Liverpool Hilton Hotel.

Hosted by Roger Jonas with speeches by Everton FC CEO. Denise Barrett Baxendale and Liverpool Metro Mayor Steven Rotheram, with a special menu created by Paul Askew and the Hilton team. The evening raised over £30,000 which will see funds officially establish the foundation for the longer term and develop the programs that will help others to be the best versions of themselves and truly ‘Fly With The Eagles’.

The late great John Haynes who helped so many 'Fly With The Eagles'.

It was a truly spectacular night and very special moment for the Wild Thang team to celebrate the life of a friend and master mentor coach John Haynes but also maybe more importantly his legacy. Before his passing for nearly a decade John had become an integral part of our company family helping Wild Thang and all our employees better themselves on a personal and professional level.

The host with the most Roger Jonas.

Andrew Dwerryhouse Wild Thang MD commented: “John Haynes was a true mentor and friend to both me and the rest of the Wild Thang team for many years and made a huge difference in the team and companies culture. John was a very special individual and wanted to make a difference in the lives of whoever he met. Whatever the subject or session about leadership or resilience you would come out it feeling 100% more positive and wanting to take on the world.

John Haynes partner Linda Adkins who gave her support and blessing for the foundation to be formed.

This is why it felt so important and right to help and support both the formation of the John Haynes Foundation by becoming a trustee, but in a wider way by making sure Wild Thang as a company supported the foundation from a branding and marketing perspective, our team of directors felt this was only right to give back a little piece of what John has given us. From the outset we offered Wild Thangs support to provide all the collateral for the foundation and gala dinner which we are proud of delivering.

All the event collateral and merchandise was lovingly designed and printed by Wild Thang

At each stage we gained approval throughout the design process from John’s partner Linda, the family and the rest of the trustees, we think we have achieved something genuinely world class from design to production, hopefully the photographs of the evening tell the story of a spectacular and successful night that surpassed everyone’s expectations.

All the event collateral and merchandise was lovingly designed and printed by Wild Thang

A huge thank you from Linda and family, patrons and trustees to everyone who attended, donated and supported the John Haynes Foundation launch, you truly are all eagles. John is gone but never forgotten, his legacy will live on with its aim of inspiring and helping 1 million people to have the resilience and belief to ‘Fly With The Eagles’.

WILD THANG WENT NEON TO SUPPORT NEONATAL!
WILD THANG WENT NEON TO SUPPORT NEONATAL!

Wild Thang went Neon for Neonatal, in support of the Liverpool Women's Hospital Big Tiny Steps Appeal! Even with the covid challenges over the previous Months, our team still feels it is important to continue to try and make a difference so once again well done to all the staff that got involved and went Neon for Neonatal.

Special mention to Darren Farrell who went that extra mile with neon Hair Dye! The whole team had great fun in a completely covid secure environment enjoying a selection of goodies in our kitchen area for staff to enjoy and make a donation, of course we also printed dual branded Neon coloured T-shirt’s for staff to purchase and wear for the day, with all proceeds going to the Liverpool Women's Hospital Big Tiny Steps Appeal.

Charities have been hit as hard as any business so continue to need our support now more than ever with every little donation making a difference, we feel really proud of the teams fundraising efforts by donating £400 - it really is the Wild Thang Way!

Here is a little about the amazing work Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust do – As our name suggests we specialise in the health of women and their babies - both within the hospital and out in the community. Collectively our team represents some of the most outstanding expertise and experience in this field. And, as the only such specialist trust in the UK - and the largest women’s hospital of its kind - we are dedicated to your care and well-being.

The Big Tiny Steps Appeal aims to help our patients, their families and the charity’s supporters during every step of their journey – be it big or tiny!

Heartfelt thank you from Wild Thang to everyone who has purchased an NHS t-shirt !
Heartfelt thank you from Wild Thang to everyone who has purchased an NHS t-shirt !

Big thank you to everyone who has made sure those NHS heroes know They’ll Never Walk Alone by purchasing a t-shirt over the past few weeks.

Just so you know the impact you have been making by purchasing a t-shirt we have put together an info graphic, which was designed by our very talented studio.

We have been overwhelmed by the positive feedback with lots of people posting photo’s which really has made us feel incredibly proud as a team, and really makes us feel that our efforts to make a difference are worthwhile. Sharing our message across social media was the real aim and that has been achieved with tens of thousands of social media interactions.

As you know our first order to be dispatched was a very special delivery to 100-year-old Captain Tom Moore as a birthday treat, what an incredible hero that has captured the nation’s hearts with his fundraising for the NHS.

We have even had a few high profile t-shirt purchases, from the amazing comedian Johnny Vegas, who has been on tour around the hospitals in the North West giving his time up selflessly for those NHS Heroes, and many thanks to the very talented Celebrity Chef from Sunday Brunch on Channel 4, Simon Rimmer.

But the highlight for the week was from Ellie Orton, CEO of NHS Charities Together who commented “Well done for all the support you are giving to NHS charities this is amazing. Thank you so much for sharing with us, we really appreciate it. Thank you so much for your support to NHSCT and our members. I love the videos and selfies they are great.”

We have had orders from across the UK and Internationally so we’re happy to report we have sold over 370 t-shirt’s over the past few weeks.

Don’t forget every t-shirt purchased we are donating 50% to NHS Charities or a t-shirt to an NHS hero in their fight against the virus, to let those heroes get the message loud and clear, whilst also importantly promoting social distancing.

Like many businesses in the UK it’s a worrying time, our sales have understandably slowed since lockdown so initiatives like this even in a small way will also help Wild Thang to reintroduce staff when the UK starts to return to normality, we cannot wait to be back up to full strength and doing what we do best, which as a company is to try and make a difference to those around us, it’s part of our ethos, and as we say - ‘It’s the Wild Thang Way!’.

Together we can all make a difference T-shirts still available over on the Wild Thang Shop

What a fantastic week one!

Big thank you to everyone who has made sure those NHS Heroes Know They Will Never Walk Alone by purchasing a t-shirt this past week.

The first orders for our t-shirts have been delivered over the past week and we have been overwhelmed by the positive feedback.

Lots of people have been posting photo’s which has got us all a bit emotional at Wild Thang & really makes us feel our efforts are worthwhile & are making a difference. More amazing images to follow and thank you so much to everyone who is supporting and letting those NHS Heroes know they Will Never Walk Alone #NHSwillneverwalkalone

Our first order to be dispatched as a very special delivery was of course heading to 99-year-old Captain Tom Moore, who has captured the nation’s hearts with his fundraising for the NHS.

We have had orders from around the UK but also got our first international order which is heading over to Sweden. Happy to report that positive momentum seems to be building, having sold just under over 200 t-shirt’s in the first 7 days which is a great start.

Hopefully this is just the start so it’s critical for everyone to continue spreading the word that our NHS Heroes will never walk alone.

Remember Wild Thang wanted to make a difference to help let them heroes know they will never walk alone whilst also promoting social distancing.

For every t-shirt purchased we will donate 50% to NHS Charities Charity No 1186569 OR a t-shirt to an NHS hero in their fight against the virus.

Like many businesses in the UK it’s a worrying time, our sales have understandably slowed down considerably since lockdown so initiatives like this even in a small way will also help Wild Thang to reintroduce staff when the UK starts to return to normality, we cannot wait to be back up to full strength and doing what we do best, which as a company is to try and make a difference to those around us, it’s part of our ethos, and as we say -

Wild Thang are committed to helping the most vulnerable in our society this Christmas

Andrew Dwerryhouse MD at Wild Thang commented: “It’s this time of year that our thoughts turn to those most in need,  we know that every little counts no matter how small can really make a difference! That’s why this festive season Wild Thang are very proud to have supplied the branding for the Emergency Homeless Survival Packs to the Cotton Street project free of charge. This project is a truly unique and groundbreaking initiative that has been created by Signature Livings Lawrence Kenwright, we know that these packs will make a difference & we will be going even further by donating a sizable amount of stock clothing such as jackets, hoodies and hats to the Cotton Street Project which will hopefully keep a number of vulnerable Homeless people safe and warm this winter. As part of the companies fundraising this Christmas we also intend to have a Christmas Jumper fundraising day meaning we will also continue to support the Whitechapel Centre which is another organization also doing great work with the homeless in our region. We believe the more people/organisations involved in trying to make an impact the better, which is  ultimately all  focused on eradicating homelessness in Liverpool City Region for good.”

Every little makes a difference and it’s always nice to support individuals that are directly involved in giving up their spare time and energy to making a difference to others selflessly, which is why Wild Thang were only too happy to help. In this case the main organiser is trying to raise £50,000 to provide crucial cancer therapies for Kate McIver.
