The enormous pen was made by Archarya Makunuri Srinivasa (India) and part of its meaningfulness comes from the fact that it was inspired by a pen his mother gave him as a young boy. Engraved with scenes from Indian mythology, Archarya’s magnificent creation measures 5.5 m (18 ft 0.53 in) in length – about 38 times the size of a regular biro – and weighs a hefty 37.23 kg (82.08 lb 1.24 oz).

The event was for the launch of a campaign to raise awareness for prostate cancer by offering free health checks. What a fantastic attention grabbing stunt gaining entry into the famous Guinness Book of Records but also creating that all important awareness of a very important health campaign.
