At Wild Thang you know we absolutely love all things big, huge, massive related to products we sell, recycling and reuse are very much a key element in long term environmental sustainability which is a current hot topic. We are also trying to do our bit so check out the worlds largest biggest T-shirt made from recycled plastic PET bottles.

This giant T-shirt made out of recycled plastic waste from around 200,000 used PET bottles has entered the Guinness Book of World Records. Measuring 97.5m x 70.08m & weighed a whopping 4,000 kg, the T-shirt was constructed in India by the Plastindia Foundation (an apex body which works with companies and government), to create awareness on the need to manage and recycle plastic waste.

The Indian company sourced 200,000 used PET bottles then crushed, recycled and processed them into fibre to create a whopping 4,000 kg of cloth.With public interest in the damage caused by discarded plastic this was a fantastic example of raising awareness by Mumbai-based organisation, Plastindia Foundation. After the record was confirmed and photos taken, the record-breaking tee was taken away to be turned into 10,000 normal sized shirts and distributed to disadvantaged children Please remember we are here to help with expert branded clothing, merchandise and print advice .

VIEW WATER BOTTLES

Another epic Snowdon achievement by the Owen McVeigh Foundation which took place on May the 25th so this just had to be merchandise in action this week.

Wild Thang are proud to have played our small part branding and donating the tech T-shirts for the annual @mcveigh_owen Foundation Snowdon Challenge which this year involved 160 plus people fundraising over £20,000 + which is just fantastic. Massive congratulations to all those amazing individuals that completed the Snowdon challenge pushing themselves to their limits for an amazing cause and also to all the fantastic companies that supported this very special event.

VIEW T-SHIRTS

Mondays don’t have to be pants, this is why I am so so pleased to share this amazing world record. You already know Wild Thang absolutely loves all things big, huge, massive related to products we sell, but this one is extra special for more than one reason. We probably produce more branded promotional branded underwear than anyone else in the UK and secondly by pure co-incidence this world record took place only down the round from our HQ.

The underpants measured a whopping 1,665 cm wide and 254 cm high and fitted very snugly around an amazing 286 people inside, this amazing world record was achieved by students from Rimrose Hope Primary School in Bootle, Liverpool. The record was organised by five students taking part in a competition in conjunction with the Gazelle group and 'Pants to Poverty,' which raises awareness for fair trade within the cotton industry. This was also very much close to our heart as a company being very much involved in the textile industry and holding Sedex membership we know how important it is to monitor your supply chain to make sure we also say ‘Pants to Poverty’.

BESPOKE PACKAGING

At Wild Thang you know we love all things big, huge, massive related to products we sell & with the worlds football spotlight firmly on English Football Clubs this week who are participating in both the Europa and Champions League Finals we just had to keep it football themed.

Check out the world’s biggest football soccer ball, the football (soccer ball) which measured 12.188 m (39 ft 11.8 in) in diameter and was made by Doha Bank (Qatar) in Doha, Qatar on 12 February 2013 The largest football (soccer ball) has a circumference of 38.30 m (125 ft 8 in) and weighs approximately 960kg.

We love pens & we love this amazing piece of artwork which was produced using a Bic pen & you still have to believe the pen is still mightier than the sword. WRITING INSTRUMENTS

Well it’s not every day you get to produce merchandise for a world class visitor attraction in your home cities most iconic building which is The Royal Liver Building. It was a real privilege to view the attraction first hand & see the most breathtaking views across the Liverpool City Region getting closer than ever to those iconic Liver Birds along with incredible animated interactive experience in the buildings clock tower.

So this simply had to be our merchandise in action for this week, in this image we love the use of the scarf being held which is a nod to the cities sporting heritage, showing the pride and excitement for the forthcoming opening for this world class visitor attraction. When it comes to branding we should never underestimate the power of the photograph to capture the moment of any event & deliver real impact, think PR exposure, think the endless social media sharing or competitions on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook & Snapchat.
