Wild Thang are committed to a sustainable future and proud to support a talented artist exhibit at Cop 26!

Wild Thang as a company are 100% committed to a sustainable future and proud to have supported the very talented artist Robyn Woolston whose art is focused on environmental impact issues. Robyn’s exhibition during Cop 26 has taken place between 31st Oct - 12th Nov in Glasgow on the ground floor of the Pipe Factory, in a space built by William White and Sons in 1877, as a clay smoking pipe factory.

Andrew Dwerryhouse Commented: “We have followed Robyn Woolston for many years and know her passion to help the future of the planets environment through her world class artwork and we knew we had to support. Wild Thang are aligned and committed to create a sustainable future as a company and prior to Cop 26 started the process of making our own internal future sustainability promise.

We are an organisation that wants to be part of the solution rather than the problem. We already hold ISO 14001 certification and have clear policies and some great examples of changes we have already made such as electric car charging point, recycling all cardboard and paper waste, plus a range of other initiatives.

Charging point being installed at Wild Thang HQ.

Our eco range has never been bigger but we want to go much further and we know the time to act is now, so when this opportunity came up to support Robyn it seemed the perfect fit. Part of the support included creating a brief statement about what the commitment will be from Wild Thang.

The Artist Robyn Woolston.

As part of the statement we shared with Robyn we described how we have just created our company vision for the next 10 years, with sustainability as one of the key components for that vision so as a company we will be aiming to be carbon neutral by 2030 and to make sure all the amazing branded clothing merchandise and print we produce are coming from sustainable sources, this will be formally announced in January 2022.

‘Last (Chance)’ 2021 @ The Pipe Factory, Glasgow // Images artists own.

Art can have real impact and influence, Robyn put it more eloquently when she said “Art provides a powerful tool in terms of consciousness-raising, agitating, re-framing and addressing both the impact and output of human behavior”. There is no better named location than the smoking pipe factory if you’re talking about environmental impact. We are still an SME and know this will be a step by step process, but if we can inspire others to do the same, and we hope Cop 26 will be a defining moment in helping the planet have a more sustainable future because action is urgently needed, we know many small changes by many people can make a world changing difference!”

Wild Thang are proud to be an official sponsor of Liverpool Business Fair!

We are proud to have been official sponsor for what was our first face to face exhibition since restrictions eased and it was amazing to get back to what we do best in the home of Liverpool Football Club on Tuesday 12th October. Carrie Dwerryhouse as ever was the perfect professional representing Wild Thang on the day & overall it was a very busy day with lots of interest for Wild Thang. It really was fantastic meeting lots of fantastic businesses, many amazing friends and connections both old & new.

ANFIELD BUSINESS FAIR

As much as zoom has played an important role nothing beats meeting people in person to really find out What they want to achieve for their next campaign or promotion so they can stay ahead of the crowd.

EXPO PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTING OUR SPONSORSHIP

Anfield is a world class venue so we were of course showcasing some of our world class branded clothing, merchandise & print, the feedback on what and how we showcased some campaigns was sensational. We had a draw on the day for a magnum of champagne because ‘All You Need Is Love’ which was completely coincidentally Won by the fantastic Salvation Army Strawberry Fields Visitor attraction which is a must visit destination.

ANDREW DWERRYHOUSE MAKING THE DRAW FOR THE MAGNUM

It felt good to support this one as we know it’s been an incredibly difficult time for all companies involved in exhibitions across the UK and Europe so we really hope that this is the start of these important industries starting to recover. Some things in life are free and this was one of them so make sure you attend the next one.

WILD THANG CHOSEN AS A SHOWCASE TO HIGHLIGHT THEIR UNIQUE BREXIT JOURNEY!
WILD THANG CHOSEN AS A SHOWCASE TO HIGHLIGHT THEIR UNIQUE BREXIT JOURNEY!

Wild Thang sometimes did not know whether to laugh or cry as we were chosen for a showcase case study video to highlight our unique Brexit journey by the Liverpool Chamber of commerce. The video gives a unique insight into both the real challenges but also how Wild Thang would like the government to help businesses, ending on a positive note about our growth plans for the future which may have had some influence on their nomination as a finalist for the Chamber International Award!

Wild Thang Production Facility.

Andrew Dwerryhouse Wild Thang MD was interviewed for the showcase and the whole team are incredibly proud to represent the manufacturing sector. Describing how we have navigated through what can only be described as the perfect storm through the Brexit challenges to not only survive but adapt and thrive, we hope that this can inspire other companies to do the same. Without doubt one of most challenging moments in the company’s 25 year history, yet we have never been more excited about the future with plans to double our turnover and increase our staffing levels by 20-30% over the next 3 years.

Wild Thang Graphics Department.

Andrew Dwerryhouse Wild Thang MD commented “It has been a roller coaster ride of a journey over the last 4 years but we were proud that our Brexit journey was featured by the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, we appreciate being chosen & we genuinely hope it has a positive impact on helping other businesses navigate it, but also for the government policy makers and ongoing EU negotiations.”

Wild Thang MD Andrew Dwerryhouse.

“It’s a special moment to watch this & also showcase to our team as it really did give everyone a real sense of pride of how we have adapted and overcome the many Brexit challenges. To not only have survived and thrived we have also stayed incredibly focused as a team on the future with big growth plans of doubling our turn over and increasing our staff levels by 20-30% over the next 3 years which include the opening of a European office in Dublin to facilitate better access into the EU.”

Wild Thang Embroidery Department.

“Hopefully this mini video also showcases our £2m new world class HQ development that is nearing very final snagging completion before the final launch, this has been delayed many times due to the impact of the World Wide Covid Pandemic which obviously has brought a huge amount of disruption and uncertainty in so many other ways. We really have to laugh when we look back or we would cry to have had three huge challenges for the price of one. We now believe we have passed through the eye of the storm."

Wild Thang Screen Printing Department.

"Our amazing team has developed so much to become logistic experts, so we are now fully focused on getting excited about meeting future growth plans and delivering products and services across the UK, Europe and beyond that are truly world class at every level.”

Wild Thang Nominated as a finalist for the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce International Award! We are incredibly proud as a team to announce that we have been nominated as a finalist for the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce International Award. As for many businesses 2020/21 has been a rollercoaster ride and probably the most challenging year in our 25 year history so when we found out we were a finalist it really did make the teams year so far. When the pandemic hit sales fell off a cliff for many areas of our business but we were determined as a team that we would not be defined as a company by the development, covid or Brexit so we adapted quickly to ensure we could not only survive, but also thrive as a team and company, so this is a very special moment.

Andrew Dwerryhouse Wild Thang MD commented “It certainly has been the perfect storm with the ongoing £2m development of our HQ nearing final completion and the unique challenges that brings, plus add a global pandemic and the troubles Brexit has brought, we got three huge challenges for the price of one!”

Wild Thang's senior team finally get the opportunity to resume normal meetings and discuss the opportunities that will come from opening the new Dublin office

“We are so proud as a team we have hopefully now come through that storm with flying colours by adapting to create a unique offer, so now we have never been more excited about the future and Wild Thang’s export growth potential which we highlighted in the supporting finalist evidence we provided about our plans to grow turnover and our exports by 20-25% in 2022.” “We are proud to have retained all staff throughout this challenging time & have already added 4 new staff to our team over the past month in preparation for that projected growth."

25 year ago Wild Thang started with a small princes trust loan here is a photo of one of the very early premises

"I also recently participated in an LCC video which I will share as soon as available that highlighted our Brexit challenge story of how we have adapted as a company and Team, and personally thanked the Chamber of commerce for their support navigating pre and post Brexit.” “It would never be right without acknowledging everyone involved so big thanks to our team, clients, suppliers and everyone else who has supported Wild Thang.”

Wild Thang NHS T-shirt Included in Culture Capsule!
Wild Thang NHS T-shirt Included in Culture Capsule!

Wild Thang ‘I heart NHS’ fundraising awareness T-shirt included in the culture capsule at Royal Liver Building 360 Visitor Attraction.

The uniquely designed time capsule in the shape of the Liver Building and its contents were designed to commemorate the monumental events of 2020 and has become a permanent display feature at this RLB360 world class visitor attraction. Capsule content ideas where submitted by schools, individuals and organisations, then a judging panel that included Tony Bellew and Cllr. Anna Rothery decided which items should be included to reflect 2020.

The permanent casule of culture display

2020 will probably always be remembered for the outbreak of the covid pandemic and the many challenges it brought, but maybe just as importantly it did bring our communities together in many different ways including much more appreciation for those NHS Heroes, highlighted through the NHS clap and many other initiatives to support them through those dark days.

Some of the items to be include in the culture capsule

Andrew Dwerryhouse commented: “This is another incredible feel good factor for both me, the team and Wild Thang as a whole, we feel really honored and humbled to have the NHS T-shirt included in this amazing initiative, it’s a reminder that good should always prevail, even the midst of difficult circumstances such as the pandemic.”

Johnny Vegas supporting the NHS awreness t-shirt campaign

“As like many companies across the UK when the pandemic struck ours was hit hard, at the time in 2020 we just made a decision as a team that even though we had no work we wanted to make a difference to support the NHS and the best way we could do that was through something we could produce in house. So we designed and produced a range of HHS awareness t-shirts with strong messages of support and the responses was incredible.

Just a few of the images people shared over social media

“It reminds us of the amazing support we got for the campaign which included  Johnny Vegas and Simon Rimmer, but it was all those other individuals that purchased one during lock down and the thousands of shares and views across social media. We will continue to support those NHS Heroes where we can as individuals and as a company because together we really all do make a difference, and it’s ‘The Wild Thang Way’.“

Chris Devaney, RLB360 Operations Manager and Kim Wall, RLB360 Attractions Manager

“Having the t-shirts featured in the Liverpool Museum Curation really is the icing on the cake and a real team morale booster. Big thanks again for the tour we were given by the RLB3060 team which included Chris Devaney, Operations Manager and Kim Wall, Attractions Manager, to view the capsule which coincided with my 50th Birthday so I could not have asked for a better present.”

as the Beatles once sang “the love you take should be equal to the love you make“ !
as the Beatles once sang “the love you take should be equal to the love you make“ !

Wild Thang are proud to have produced & sponsored the t-shirts in partnership with one of our amazing clients - Hat Scarf Or A Badge - to support 'An Hour For Others Charity' which raised around £14k in the process.

They are a charity with a big heart  and believe Together We Are Strong and are doing great things in the community & promoting that every single one of us is part of the community and has a responsibility in making it the best it can be.

Many of us also have a particular skill or talent that can help improve somebody else's life. Kindness, compassion, respect and belief costs nothing.  As busy as life is we can all find some time each week or month to help build our community and inspire others to get involved.  The smallest compliment and act of kindness can transform somebody's world. A community should always support it's most vulnerable and work together to help it thrive.

Talking of big hearts, it was great to see Jamie Carragher and his foundation - The Jamie Carragher 23 Foundation - getting behind and supporting this fantastic event. I know a lot of people gave up their time to participate and support which is what it was all about with a great finale at Anfield venue Taggy's Bar, the venue created a real positive post party atmosphere.

After the difficult year everyone has had due to Covid its fantastic to see there is still real appetite to make a difference, this is an example of some awesome businesses and people making a difference, as the Beatles once sang “the love you take should be equal to the love you make“
