Wild Thang are very proud to announce our support towards the iconic site, Strawberry Field.

The tourist attraction is owned by the Salvation Army, which they use the profits from the visitor experience to keep the gates open permanently and to support Steps at Strawberry Field, a set of initiatives for people with disabilities or other employment challenges. Of course, this is such a fantastic cause, and we are very happy that we can help.

STRAWBERRY FIELD

In September 2019, Strawberry Field, the famous location immortalised by John Lennon in the Beatles song "Strawberry Fields Forever," first welcomed visitors via its recognisable red gates.

Through their exhibition, you can learn about the history of the iconic site; including stories from the former children’s home and about how John came to write the famous song. The site now serves a unique addition to Beatles tourism.

The site holds an interactive visitor exhibition, a café, a shop, and quiet garden places for spiritual reflection.

Entry to the cafe, shop and gardens is free. If you would like to purchase tickets to their visitor experience, they can be booked in advance by following the link at the bottom of our page.

THE WORK OF STRAWBERRY FIELD

The site is home to Steps to Work programme for young adults with learning challenges and other hurdles to employment.

All proceeds from the exhibition, café and shop go towards supporting the Steps at Strawberry Field programmes, which cater to those who face obstacles to employment such as learning disabilities. There is more information if you follow the link at the bottom of the page.

WILD THANG SUPPORTS STRAWBERRY FIELD MOUNT TOUBKAL TREK

We are proud to announce that we will be donating branded hoodies for their Mount Toubkal Trek on the 3^rd – 7^th August 2022 free of charge. Lesley from Strawberry Field came for the full Wild Thang tour and we were able to hear about all the amazing work Strawberry Field do. Lesley had actually been completing her regular training in line for the trek taking place in August that morning, this team means business!

They are aiming to raise £2500 each for the Strawberry Field’s Step to Work Programme.

It costs £10,000 for one trainee to go through the Steps to Work programme; and with all of your support, the fantastic team at Strawberry Field can continue the work they do to help more and more people achieve their dreams of paid employment.

MOUNT TOUBKAL

This once in a lifetime adventure will allow the trekkers to take on the Atlas Mountains of Morocco and summit its highest peak - Mount Toubkal.

All of us at Wild Thang wish the team good luck on their fundraising and the trek they will be completing in August.

We thought it was incredibly important to reflect on some of the fantastic campaigns, support we have offered and engagement we have been involved in over the entire pride month. At the start of June we kick started our pride month by adapting our logo to the bright pride colours to celebrate diversity, tolerance, awareness and celebration of the positive impact the LGBTQ+ community has on our society!

We are proud to support the work NYCHYL are doing with Rainbow Toffees on their new limited edition best seller t-shirt.

The limited edition t-shirt comes with a signed post card by Neville Southall, a proud patron of the Rainbow Toffees in a presentation box.

Wild Thang have donated the 20 t-shirts for the fantastic launch, enabling all profits to go towards the wonderful work carried out by the Rainbow Toffees.

We are absolutely buzzing as it’s another exciting moment for Wild Thang, as we were chosen as a local Liverpool company to brand the first teams kits of Liverpool Football Club for their upcoming Champions League Final against Real Madrid in Paris on the 28^th May.

 As a team, we are always very proud when seeing our branding in action especially when it will be on such an important occasion, being the Champions League Final in Paris on the 28 May 2022.

The Champions League Final is considered one of the top footballing events on the world stage with a worldwide audience of over 400 million predicted to watch live, so when it comes to talking about something that Wild Thang has branded, I am sure you can understand our complete and utter excitement.

LFC TV paid a visit to Wild Thang HQ where they captured our embroidery expert and supervisor Darren Farrell, working his magic with his great attention to detail to the first team kits. This was not the first time Darren has featured on LFC TV; we could say that he has become quite the expert in front of the camera alongside the day job too.

What an exciting time for this year’s Pride celebrations this June! We are post-covid and can finally celebrate restriction-free across the UK and around the world! This year marks a special date, as it is the 50^th anniversary of the first Pride march in the UK in 1972.

We use the month of June to honour the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, that changed gay rights for many people not only just in America but also worldwide! It is a moment to reflect on the progress made towards equality but also to remember those who fought for LGBTQ+ communities rights and acknowledge the progress to continue.

This year we will see, the famous Pride parades and celebrations back throughout June but also throughout the year. It is an opportunity to bring people together by celebrating diversity, freedom and inclusivity.

On the topic of football and the fantastic work The Premier League are doing in the support of the LGBTQ+ community, this year Jake Daniels the 17 year old Blackpool forward has ended the decades of silence within the male football community in consideration to the LGBTQ+ community. In an interview he had explained that he is ready to act as a role model for others in the game after deciding this is the right time to be himself, free and confident within his identity. St. Hilda’s Church of England High School is located in Sefton Park in Liverpool, where approximately 40 members of staff participated in fundraising over £10 000 for a fantastic charity called Sunflowers Liverpool. Wild Thang are proud to have been able to give them a special discounted rate, free setups and provide that free design service to support this great initiative.

1 in 2 of us are affected by cancer in some sort of way, so you can understand why a charity like Sunflowers is so important for our community. The charity is a unique support service to help individuals and families affected by a cancer diagnosis or other life changing illnesses in the Merseyside region. All their services are delivered by a qualified team, specialised and experienced in helping people coping with long-term illness. 

TEAM ST. HILDAS IN ACTION EN-ROUTE TO WALES

The staff of St. Hilda’s started their challenge bright and early at 5:45am, where they followed a planned route in small relay teams from the school all the way to Wales, and then to top it off they finished with a celebratory walk up Moel Famau!

As you can see for yourselves, they are all kitted out in some high quality hoodies branded in house by our print experts that we were told gained lots of attraction during the day. Those around spotted the teams while on their travels and many donated to the cause, collecting up to a whopping £400!

Just Giving Page Sunflowers Liverpool Get In Touch

Wild Thang are proud to support BTR Road Runners who organise and stage the Medal Muddle 5K events. The event returned in April after an enforced break, which took place on the Wirral in Hoylake.

 This year round, the profits from the event on the 23^rd of April went towards the Ukrainian Emergency Appeal.

If you did not already know, BTR Road Runners found that there were always surplus t-shirts and medals at the end of races. These would then accumulate and either be thrown out or donated to good causes. Now these surplus items are repurposed, rebranded and then presented to all those that take part in the race.

Not only are the events raising funds for great causes, but also the idea behind the Medal Muddle 5K is truly a great tackle on sustainability and resource management within the race category.

This year marks a special date for the royal family, the nation and especially for Her Majesty the Queen.

Queen Elizabeth II is the longest reigning British monarch in history and therefore this is the first time that any British monarch has celebrated a Platinum Jubilee. At 96 years old, she is also the oldest monarch in world history. This is a celebration of seventy years of service since the Queen was first crowned as the monarch of the United Kingdom at twenty-five years old.

Wild Thang HQ had a special visit from a reporter from BBC Radio Merseyside this week, Henry Liston. He came to talk to Andy and Jade about all ‘thangs’ The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Henry was great fun so we had to lay down the Royal red carpet and give him the full 5 star experience taking him on the exclusive Wild Thang tour and of course, we could not let him leave empty-handed.

We took him behind the scenes with our screen print expert Graham, who printed some Platinum Jubilee t-shirts to take back with him to studio.

We had our own Wild Thang Jubilee celebrations on our rooftop, the sun was shining and it was just a great excuse to get all the team together. A huge thank you to Carrie for organising the activities for the day and our royally approved lunch and drinks.

ALL DONATIONS AND MONEY RAISED WENT TO THE JOHN HAYNES FOUNDATION

Wild Thang used the day to fundraise money for The John Haynes Foundation, a foundation held very close to all our hearts. Overall with sales of the Wild Thang Jubilee branded cotton shoppers, and donations we generated a whopping £400.

Well this is a remarkable achievement and it’s not every day we get to work on merchandise for such a major sporting event in the world of Rugby. The world loves the underdog and some had already written off the Red Devils as being a none contender at the beginning of the season, how wrong could they be, which in some ways makes it even sweeter for the club, players and the amazing fans.

Wild Thang Director John Howarth, who helps look after the clubs requirements, commented: “There is so much to celebrate, what a year, what a club! Massive congrats from the whole Wild Thang Team on making it to the Grand Final but also to Jacko Hastings on winning the Man of Steel at the Super League Awards this week too, the guy has deserves everything that comes his way and we are excited for next season already!”
