Wild Thang Supports St Hilda's Staff Relay for Sarcoma UK and The Oliver Park Fund

Wild Thang Supports St Hilda's Staff Relay for Sarcoma UK and The Oliver Park Fund

Wild Thang is immensely proud to support the St Hilda's Staff Relay, a challenging event dedicated to raising funds for Sarcoma UK and The Oliver Park Fund. This year, the relay was held in memory of Oliver Park, a remarkable student whose life was tragically cut short by sarcoma. On May 4th, 65 teachers from St Hilda's High School participated in an 85km relay race along the stunning Liverpool and Wirral coastlines, showcasing their commitment to this important cause.

Oliver Park was an extraordinary young man, and his family’s words capture his essence best. After a year long battle with cancer, Oliver passed away on the 22nd of March, 2023. His family remembers him as a kind, loving, and beautiful soul who faced his illness with incredible strength and grace. Oliver’s spirit continues to inspire those who knew him and his memory drives the St Hilda's community to honour him through this significant event.

The relay event was a formidable challenge, demanding both physical and emotional strength from all participants. Despite the difficulties, the St Hilda's staff showed immense determination and unity, running to remember Oliver and to support others battling sarcoma. Their efforts were not in vain, as they successfully raised an impressive £18,243, far exceeding their initial target of £5,000.

At Wild Thang, we were honoured to play a part in this noble endeavour. We produced 65 hoodies and 65 T-shirts for the event, providing the branding for free. Seeing the participants wear these garments with pride was a rewarding experience, reinforcing our commitment to supporting charitable causes and community events. We think the photo’s really are the epitomy of branding in action bringing the event to life in a themed and co-ordinated way so genuinely  showcase the very reason we produce branded clothing, merchandise and print for so many different clients across the UK and beyond.

The funds raised through this event will go a long way in supporting Sarcoma UK, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of everyone affected by sarcoma. These funds will also benefit The Oliver Park Fund, which aims to continue Oliver’s legacy by supporting causes close to his heart. The money raised will help fund vital research and provide resources to those in need, making a tangible difference in many lives.
