It is with immense pride as a team to announce that Wild Thang have won the prestigious Chief Executive’s Award at the Downtown In Business City of Liverpool Business Awards 2024. Held at the breathtaking Sefton Park Palm House in Liverpool on Friday 4^th July, the dome shaped Victorian Palm house and floral interior created a beautiful world class environment for the awards celebration, big thanks to Downtown In Business for hosting such an incredible evening.

The City of Liverpool Business Awards (COLBA) were established by Downtown in Business way back in 2004 to acknowledge and celebrate companies and entrepreneurs that have made a successful and significant contribution to economic growth in the city region.

It was an evening filled with many inspirational people and companies that have been rightfully recognised for all the right reasons, many of whom we are genuinely proud to call friends and clients. Wild Thang was also incredibly proud to sponsor the Newcomer of the Year 2024 award, which was won by the outstanding Municipal Hotel. Supporting emerging businesses in Liverpool aligns perfectly with our commitment to giving back and fostering growth and innovation in our local community.

We saw a great theme of sustainability throughout the event which suited the floral design of the room, with Wild Thang being heavily committed to sustainability this was great to see! Shout out to ThinkWine who provided guests with their low calorie, health conscious alternative alcoholic drinks on arrival, we saw they are a B- Corp registered company which is inspiring for the team as we have submitted our own application to become B-Corp certified.

Our Managing Director, Andrew Dwerryhouse and the whole Wild Thang team were honoured to have won the prestigious Chief Executive Award 2024, presented and chosen by Frank McKenna, Chief Executive of Downtown in Business. We are delighted to be given this award as a team and of course we just had to have a team breakfast celebration event at Wild Thang HQ!

It was truly inspiring to witness other award-winning Liverpool businesses being recognised. The awards showcased the intive spirit and resilience that drive our city forward. The evening also coincided with the general election, where we celebrated the change brought about by our new Labour government, heralding a new era of progress for our city and nation.

For those who don’t know it’s Wild Thang’s 28^th year in business, starting out with a small Princes Trust grant we are by no means an overnight success & while we are now a multi award winning company this one feels extra special because it is the prestigious Chief Executive’s Award chosen personally  and presented by the Downtown CEO Frank Mckenna, to be recognised by a peer you genuinely both admire and respect is nothing short of sensational. In the same week we heard the news that we are also a finalist in the Liverpool Chamber Innovation Awards in three categories so it’s got to go down as one of the best weeks in Wild Thang’s history in terms of positive recognition.”
