The moment has finally arrived to officially submit our B-Corp application which has been in the making since we first announced our commitment to become B-Corp all the way back in March 23.

At Wild Thang, ESG isn't just a policy tick list, it's a commitment that genuinely shapes everything we do as a team at Wild Thang. We're thrilled to share this really important milestone towards becoming B-Corpcertified and we thought we would combine this nicely to also share our ongoing journey in carbon avoidance projects and our reforestation efforts to maintain a healthier planet. This blog highlights our accomplishments, our sustainability pledge and the exciting road ahead as we approach our second anniversary of dedicated climate action.
The 8 Stages Of Wild Thang's Sustainability Pledge
Our commitment to the environment and ESG is structured around an ambitious eight-stage sustainability pledge. This comprehensive plan outlines our steps towards reducing our carbon footprint and enhancing our ecological efforts as we accelerate our journey towards Net Zero. From reducing waste in our operations to engaging in global carbon offsetting projects, each stage of our pledge is designed to make a significant impact on our environmental & ESG responsibilities.
Addressing Methane Emissions And Promoting Clean Energy
We are proud to announce that to date, we have avoided a whopping 1,021.88 tons of CO2e. To put this into perspective, this is equivalent to the carbon emissions from 600 long-haul flights, saving 2,345 square metres of ice, or avoiding 1,939,001 miles driven by an average car. These figures not only highlight our impact but also underscore the importance of our sustainability initiatives.
Protecting Biodiversity And Conserving Vital Ecosystems
A cornerstone of our environmental strategy is our commitment to reforestation. With 54,540 trees planted to support global reforestation efforts, enhancing biodiversity and helping to regenerate ecosystems that are vital for life on earth.
Peatland Restoration And Conservation In Indonesia
Our commitment extends beyond local initiatives, we are actively involved in a whopping 17 carbon avoidance projects worldwide. These include diverse projects like solar power in Indonesia, fuel efficient cookstoves in Uganda & Kenya, methane gas capture and preserving Amazon rainforest in Brazil, protection of forests in Columbia and a wildlife sanctuary in Cambodia, in India turning organic waste into power and capturing biogas for energy in Turkey, wind power projects in Mexico and America, and even further solar initiatives in Morocco and Egypt. Each project not only helps reduce global carbon emissions but also supports local communities through job creation and infrastructure improvements.

We are really proud of the progress we are making, and we are more excited than ever about our continuing journey towards becoming a certified B-Corp, it has been a long road to get this point, but we genuinely want to make a difference as an organisation and as a team to benefit all people, communities and the planet which is the world class Wild Thang way. This certification will not only validate our environmental and social performance but also align us with a very special global community of leaders committed to using business as a force for good.

Meeting With David Connor From 2030 Hub
Dave Connor from 2030 Hub commented: "B Corp is one of the fastest growing, and most important movements in the world of business. It's a thoroughly challenging and holistic stocktake of how a for-profit company is performing socially and environmentally, and significantly, how that ethos is also locked into the formal governance structure. Wild Thang are a fantastically vibrant example of a local Liverpool community of businesses wanting to prove their intentions to be a force for good."
