To start, we overindulge during the holidays without giving it much thought. But, research suggests that the average person is responsible for an additional 635 Kg of carbon emissions during Christmas—equivalent to three weeks of driving a car!

This year the products we have brought together as our own Christmas campaign range are focused on showcasing high quality, innovative, sustainable & just as importantly really useful products. Well with the exception of the festive chocolate pack but that is hopefully giving that little bit of instant satisfaction.

We have tried to choose high quality products that have some eco or sustainability credentials, meaning that they will be used and kept for a long time therefore the carbon footprint and eco impact will lessen over time. You will have hopefully noticed a bit of a bamboo theme, did you know that bamboo is one of the most sustainable materials on the planet, which is why we will continue to feature bamboo products going forward. The paper and packaging included with the gifts all come from sustainable FSC-certified forests that are managed to strict environmental, social and economic standards.

Beyond the festivities, our commitment to sustainability takes centre stage. In 2023, we've continued to make strides in our sustainability journey. From our Sustainability Pledge, planting trees with every order and on behalf of our team, to the installation of solar panels at Wild Thang HQ, we're dedicated to reducing our environmental impact and promoting eco-friendly practices and confirm we have officially started our journey to become B-Corp certified. This is why the theme in our product selection process this year was around sustainability.

We were also recognised and rewarded for that progress by winning Sustainability Business of the Year at the Liverpool Chamber Of Commerce Innovation Awards which was a highlight of the companies and team’s year. In regards to sustainability statistics at Wild Thang we are currently producing more clean energy than we need thanks to our new solar panel installation, it produces an estimated 162% energy, with the excess energy of approximately 70% exported to the grid, 30% of the energy generated will cover around 80% of our total energy use!
