At Wild Thang, we believe in using our creative skills to make a positive difference in our community. That's why we were thrilled to lend our support to the Owen McVeigh Foundation's charity walk, an event dedicated to helping children and their families who are battling cancer in Merseyside.
Founded by Mark McVeigh in memory of his son Owen, the Owen McVeigh Foundation aims to enrich the lives of local children suffering from cancer. The foundation works tirelessly to provide these brave children and their families with unforgettable experiences and precious memories that money can't buy. Through their dedication and support, they offer a glimmer of joy and hope during the difficult journey of fighting cancer.
On the 13th of May, the team at the Owen McVeigh Foundation and people close to the organisation rallied together for a charity walk up the majestic Mount Snowdon. Nestled in the breathtaking Snowdonia National Park, the Owen McVeigh Foundation charity walk embraced the awe-inspiring beauty of the surrounding landscape. The walk included rugged terrains, verdant valleys, and cascading waterfalls, all while being captivated by the stunning natural scenery. It is the highest peak in Wales, standing at an elevation of 1,085 meters (3,560 feet) above sea level, creating a difficult 4 to 6 hour hike to the summit, this all meant that the team had a difficult task ahead of them.
The Owen McVeigh Foundation charity walk proved to be an overwhelming success, not only did the team reach the summit generous contributions were pouring in from participants and supporters alike. The event has raised an impressive sum of over £18,000 and continues to climb as the community rallies together in support of children with cancer in Merseyside.
Wild Thang is proud to have supplied, printed and sponsored the t-shirts worn for the Snowdon Climb. These specially designed shirts not only provided a sense of unity but also helped raise awareness and funds for the Owen McVeigh Foundation's cause. We would like to give credit to our expert screen print team who are world-class at their craft and produced amazing T-shirts for the event, It was an honour for us to be involved and to see the participants proudly wearing our shirts as they embarked on their journey, seeing the branding in action in the photo’s, really make our day and fills our team with pride.
The charity walk brought together families and individuals who have directly benefited from the Owen McVeigh Foundation's support. Among them was young Alfie from Widnes, a courageous fighter in his battle against cancer. Witnessing the determination and resilience of these families was truly inspiring, reinforcing the importance of community support during challenging times. Big well done to all the companies who support this fantastic event including the Berry Street Garage who were the main sponsor of the event.
