The Builder Book Planet Pack Awards 2024

The Builder Book Planet Pack Awards 2024

Last week, Wild Thang were very proud to be a main sponsor & attend the Builder Book Project Planet Pack Awards event at the Shakespeare North Playhouse which was an incredible success. This was the culmination of the amazing project that saw 10,000 Planet Packs delivered across the region to promote literacy and sustainability to children.

Attended by many local Mayors and dignitaries it was an evening filled with community spirit, creativity and a strong focus on sustainability. As one of the proud main sponsors, Wild Thang played a significant role in the event and we were thrilled to see so many wonderful eco initiatives come to life, particularly the recognition of young children who submitted their incredibly innovative creative and sustainable ideas.

The evening kicked off with guests being greeted by a beautiful children's art exhibition. The spectacular Shakespeare North Playhouse welcomed around  325 attendees who all gathered to celebrate the achievements of the primary school-aged children from across Liverpool, Merseyside, Ellesmere Port, and Flintshire, North Wales. The performances by Sing Me Merseyside and the Knotty Ash Signing Choir set the tone for an uplifting evening, with entertainment continuing throughout the event, including a spoken word performance by local poet Joseph Roberts and a moving song by opera singer Sophie Clarke.

Wild Thang was especially proud to provide sustainable gift packs for the event. These included recycled cotton tote bags, sustainable backpacks, stunning acrylic awards, RPET lanyards, wristbands and much more all carefully designed to reflect the event and our commitment to sustainability. The guests were able to take home these packs, showcasing how corporate gifting can be both impactful and environmentally responsible. Sustainability was at the heart of the night and our branded merchandise highlighted how thoughtful, sustainable choices can make a difference in corporate settings.

One of the most touching moments was the presentation of 'Bot's Big Breakthrough Award to one of the children for Incredibly Inventive Innovations,' sponsored by The Good Small Business Awards and Maxwell Hodge. These young visionaries inspired everyone in the room, demonstrating the bright future that lies ahead for sustainability and innovation.

Presenting the 'Builder Book Big Bonus Award for Caring, Connected Community'!

As sponsors, we had the honour of presenting the 'Builder Book Big Bonus Award for Caring, Connected Community' to St Cuthbert’s Brownies of Croxteth. Seeing the Brownies receive recognition for their hard work, especially after using the Planet Packs to earn their 'I Help The Planet' Brownies Badge, was a proud moment for everyone involved. The awards continued to shine a light on the young individuals who are making a real difference to the future of the planet and this event perfectly aligns with our own teams values, ethics and ESG commitments, especially our long term sustainability pledge which includes planting trees and investing in carbon avoidance projects for every order received.

The night wrapped up with a special thank you presentation by Builder Book Project founders Natalie Reeves Billing and Jude Lennon from the outstanding and unique venue, all other partners, supporters, volunteers and sponsors without who this project would not be possible, including Wild Thang, alongside our fellow sponsors such as Printroom UK,  LJMU, Everton in the Community, Exceptional Care Ltd, Puzzle Duck, Duchy of Lancaster Benevolence Fund, Flintshire County Council, Shakespeare North Playhouse, MRB and Meet Sean O’Neill.
