We are the champions and are thrilled to announce that Wild Thang took home both the prestigious Sustainable Business of the Year award and the International Business of the Year award at this remarkable event.

Last Thursday the 26th of October marked a truly spectacular occasion for Wild Thang as we attended the Innovation in Business Awards 2023 in the spectacular St Georges Hall. We were absolutely thrilled to have been finalists in not just one but three prestigious categories.

With stiff competition and high expectations, we were on the edge of our seats throughout the evening but after a tense wait, we heard the beautiful words...  And the Winner is... WILD THANG! The moment we've all been waiting for finally arrived and we are overjoyed to announce that Wild Thang clinched the Sustainable Business of the Year award and the International Business of the Year award.

It's an incredible honour to receive these awards, it is a true testament to our 27-year journey filled with hard work, innovation, development, research and creativity. As always, these awards are accepted by the full team, this recognition really means the world to us and it's proof that our commitment to excellence has truly paid off. In regard to the sustainability award, this was the award we were hoping to come away with due to our huge company commitment to sustainability over the last year. With the introduction of the sustainability pledge at the start of the year and the recent completion of our solar panel installation at Wild Thang HQ we have been committing to sustainability as a team as well as financially therefore it was great to see us win this award after our hard work.

The International Award was a fantastic award to receive because it gives us great recognition for our efforts to grow Wild Thang internationally in Dublin, Ireland and most recently New Jersey, USA which we are incredibly excited about. All winners were selected from the result of both a public vote and an expert business panel evaluation, ensuring a balanced decision. At Wild Thang, we firmly believe that true success is a collective effort, built by an entire team working together – what we like to call 'The Wild Thang Way'.

The awards night was truly spectacular and we owe a huge thank you to the Liverpool Chamber for organising such an outstanding event at St Georges Hall. The venue added an extra layer of grandeur to an already unforgettable evening that will last a lifetime. We'd like to extend our appreciation to all the exceptional businesses that attended the awards, sponsors that supported it and those who were nominated as a finalist. It was truly a fantastic experience celebrating alongside all of you. We would also like to say a huge thank you to Quirky Digital and Liverpool Hope University who were sponsors of the awards we won on the night. Andrew Dwerryhouse, Wild Thang MD, shared his thoughts on this momentous win:  “After winning Liverpool Chamber Business of the year in 2022 we did not think it could get any better as this was one of the biggest moments in the teams and companies history, so to come away with Sustainability and International Business of the Year as a team we are now in dreamland and have surpassed all our expectations, to be recognised by both an expert panel of business people and a public vote is the perfect vote of confidence that will help further create momentum to support our continued aspirations to become an industry leading organisation.

Big congratulations to all finalists and winners some of whom we are proud to call clients which fills us with even further pride. This 100% becomes one of the great moments in our history, as you may or may not know this year is our 27th year in business and from a small beginning with a Prince’s Trust grant and loan, we are by no means an overnight success and sometimes you have to be around for a long time to get the recognition we are receiving. The team and I have always been in business for the long game to become a world class company so our hard work and endeavours are starting to pay off.

The one I personally wanted on the evening was the Sustainability award which is fantastic recognition for our efforts as a team and organisation over the last number of years to place sustainability right at the heart of everything we do as a company, with the launch of our sustainability pledge I am really proud of the progress we have made to become Net Zero by 2023.

The International award was an unexpected icing on the cake which recognizes the progress we have made in Dublin, Ireland and now the formation of a company in New Jersey, USA to facilitate our growth aspiration in North America. As ever it’s never a single individual that makes receiving these awards possible but a complete team effort so personal and huge thanks to the Liverpool Chamber for putting on what I think is one of the best awards dinners in the whole of the LCR if not the UK given spectacular backdrop of the magnificent St Georges Hall.

But just as importantly to our clients, suppliers, partners, friends and last but not least of course our amazing team, this has been a huge boost to both our profile and given us that feel good factor to help support our exciting growth aspirations as an international business for years ahead.”
