In an exciting development for Wild Thang, Directors John and Sarah Howarth recently visited the USA as part of our continued expansion into the corporate and promotional merchandise market in America. Their trip was to visit the renowned ASI Show in Chicago, a pivotal event in the world of merchandise and promotional products.

TheASI Show in Chicago is a huge expo, showcasing thousands of product ideas and providing an excellent opportunity to connect with suppliers and distributors. This visit was a significant step in strengthening our presence in the USA, aligning with our strategic vision for international growth.

This expansion is a testament to our company's ongoing success and ambition. Wild Thang’s growth in the US market is a key reason why we have been shortlisted for the Business of the Year (over 30 employees) at the Liverpool Chamber Innovation in Business Awards 2024. Our international expansion efforts reflect our commitment to providing world-class service on a global scale.

John Howarth shared his thoughts on the journey: “Our participation in the ASI Show enabled us to meet industry leaders, develop our supply chain, and tailor our approach to best serve the unique needs of our US based clients. We also attended education days and shared downtime with some of our colleagues from around the globe, including a trip on the world famous architectural boat tour on the Chicago River and a trip to Wrigley Field for a Cubs game, both great experiences!”

We know that the USA is one of the biggest users of branded clothing and merchandise so this visit to the ASI Show is just as much to gain research, insights and gain knowledge on global trends, which is one of the many steps we are taking to solidify our position globally. Our new office in New Jersey, located near New York City, allows us to tap into new markets, strengthen existing relationships as well as position ourselves at the heart of one of the world's most vibrant business landscapes.

Of course where we can we are always arranging meetings remotely to save on those all-important air miles from a sustainability point of view, but for some shows its always better face to face in an expo environment where we can arrange many more meetings back to back that will save further travel in the long term. Where it is needed we will be making sure all internal company flights we take are included as  part of our carbon offsetting partnership with Ecologi, which is an important part of our long term sustainability pledge.

We are genuinely thankful for the important support we have received on the International journey so far, which has been a real team effort. We have utilised important partnerships and relationships at home to help with the North America expansion, our friends at BITA started the whole ball rolling by connecting us with a fantastic New Jersey Company, Cove, who have been invaluable in helping us navigate the process of legally forming the U.S. company, accountancy and expert tax advice. The Liverpool Chamber has also been invaluable help with expert international trade advice, introduction to the U.S. embassy which created some valuable contacts & some essential international trade mission funding.
